Western Province Team News & Playing 11

WPR Team News

After an excellent start to the campaign which saw Western Province win three matches on the bounce, the side have struggled to get additional victories and were thrashed by Lions by 132 runs in the last game. Confidence will be low in the group amongst the batters and bowlers.

WPR Team Batting

Western Province’s batters have failed to produce the goods in their last two games which has led to successive heavy defeats. Skipper Kyle Vereynne will be looking to the likes of George Linde and Jonathan Bird to step up and produce significant contributions.

WPR Team Bowling

George Linde and Beuran Hendricks were the only bowlers for Western Province to pick up a wicket in the last game and the bowling unit return to the same venue for this match. However, taking on lowly Boland may allow a few individuals to find form with the ball.

WPR Team Form

Western Province have won only one of their last six matches and have lost their last two games.

Western Province Predicted Playing 11

Jonathan Bird, Edward Moore, Wayne Parnell, Kyle Verreynne (c) (wk), Valentine Kitime, George Linde, Kyle Simmonds, Juan James, Onke Nyaku, Beuran Hendricks, Mthiwekhaya Nabe

Boland Team News & Playing 11

BOL Team News

Janneman Malan returned to the top order for Boland in their bottom of the table clash victory over KWZ-Natal on Friday and although he only made 1 run, we expect him to keep Keegan Petersen out of the team for this clash against Western Province.

BOL Team Batting

Chasing 95 to win and lift themselves off the bottom of the table, it was never expected to be easy for a batting line-up who have struggled for confidence. However, they reached their target with 4.3 overs to spare on Friday and opener Adrian du Toit looked the most comfortable at the crease of all the batters.

BOL Team Bowling

The Boland bowling attack will be keen to get back on the pitch and at their opponents again in this game after bowling out KZN-Inland for 94 in their last match. Shaun von Berg continued his strong recent form with 2/15 from four overs but it was Imran Manack who was the standout performer.

BOL Team Form

Boland may be next to bottom in the table but they have won two of their last three games.

Boland Predicted Playing 11

Janneman Malan, Adrian du Toit, Clyde Fortuin (c) (wk), Aviwe Mgijma, Michael Copeland, Ferisco Adams, Christiaan Jonker, Shaun von Berg, Imran Manack, Glenton Stuurman, Akhona Mnyaka

🏆 Western Province vs Boland Prediction

Although Western Province are 11 points and four places above Boland in the table, it is Boland who come into this game in the stronger form. That said, Western Province do have a bowling attack which will have a point to prove in this match and will be up against a fragile batting line-up. Our prediction is for a close game but with Western Province getting the win.
