UAE Team News & Playing 11

UAE Team News

UAE had a bizarre outing in the preceding ODI matches where they lost all three matches of the ICC World Cup League 2. The team would be eyeing a better show in the T20I leg. UAE are a better T20I side but so are Scotland so it is not going to be easy for UAE in the T20Is as well.

UAE Team Batting

Muhammad Waseem, Vriiyta Aravind and Tanish Suri will be key batters. Waseem is more suited to the T20I format. He scored over 300 runs in the ILT20 for MI Emirates. Also, he was the best UAE batter in the ODI matches. Aravind is someone who brings stability to the batting. He is not a massive striker like Waseem but rotates strike well and plays long innings. Suri has showed a lot of promise in his early days and played a couple of good knocks in the ODIs.

UAE Team Bowling

Junaid Siddique, Aayan Khan and Ali Naseer can be backed as top bowlers. Siddique had a decent outing in the ODIs and head into the T20I series with momentum on his side. He is the team’s strike bowler. Aayan Khan is also a good option in T20Is. He often opens the bowling for the side and more often than not gets early wickets. Ali Naseer is a valuable addition. He is excellent at the death and thus ends up with decent figures.

UAE Team Form

UAE last played Afghanistan in the T20I series where they suffered a 2-1 defeat

UAE Predicted Playing 11

Muhammad Waseem (c), Tanish Suri (wk), Aryan Lakra, Basil Hameed, Aayan Afzal Khan, Dhruv Prashar, Alishan Sharafu, Ali Naseer, Junaid Siddique, Akif Raja, Zahoor Khan/Jawadullah

SCO Team News

Scotland also had a bizarre outing in the T20I leg as they lost two matches to Canada. However, they did manage to beat UAE. Even though the Scotland squad for T20I series is very much same, there are a few new faces. The likes of James Dickson, Oli Hairs, Jack Jarvis have been added to the T20I squad. Scotland are a more established side in T20Is so they would be looking for a winning start.

SCO Team Batting

Richie Berrington, Matt Cross and George Munsey will be the main batters for Scotland. The aforementioned players are great T20I players and have scored a lot of runs in this format of the game. Berrington is the leading run scorer in T20Is, with over 1500 runs while Munsey has over 1100 runs. Cross too has scored over 1000 T20I runs for the team.

SCO Team Bowling

Safyaan Sharif, Mark Watt and Michael Leask will be the top bowlers for Scotland. The three bowlers are among the leading wicket-takers for the team in T20Is. Sharif has taken 72 wickets for the team followed by Watt, who has taken 69 wickets. Leask has contributed with 37 wickets.

SCO Team Form

Scotland have not played any T20I cricket in recent times. They played ODI World Cup followed by ICC World Cup League 2 matches. The team was not in great form as they lost to Canada twice in two games.

Scotland Predicted Playing 11

Matthew Cross, Brandon McMullen, George Munsey, Richie Berrington (c), Brad Currie, Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Safyaan Sharif, Scott Currie, Andrew Umeed/Brad Wheal

🏆 UAE vs Scotland Prediction

Scotland will start as favourites. Scotland are a more established team in this format of the game and managed to beat UAE in the ODI game recently. Also, UAE have not shown any form in last three ODI games, losing badly to Canada and Scotland. UAE also lost the last ODI series to Afghanistan. Back Scotland to win.
