SRH will take on CSK in the 18th match of the IPL 2024. The match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and will start at 7:30 PM IST on April 5.

SRH has been on fire in IPL 2024. The points table suggest that the team has lost two out of the three games but mind you, they could have easily won all games. SRH suffered a defeat to GT in last game and that probably was their worst performance in the IPL 2024 so far.

SRH will be up against CSK, who will come into the game after losing to Delhi Capitals in Vizag. The defeat came as a shock as CSK were the favourites to win, however, MS Dhoni’s cameo down the order more of less made the fans forget about the loss and cherish the vintage Dhoni. Anyways, this is not a format where teams will win 100 per cent of their matches so CSK won’t be too disappointed. In a nutshell, CSK have a quality batting lineup and a potent bowling attack so they would be a tough opponent to take down for an on-song SRH.

There is no clear fitness update for T Natarajan. He played against KKR but was ruled out of the following two games. He was expected to get fit before the previous clash against GT but didn’t. Expectations are high that he could return to playing XI against CSK, however, there is no official update. In another massive blow, ace all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has pulled out of the tournament.

SRH Key Players

• Travis Head – Head has played two games so far and has looked in devastating form. He scored 62 in 24 balls against MI, helping SRH post 277-3, and looked good during his knock of 19 against GT before throwing away his wicket. Head plays only one way thus if he stays at the wicket for say 30 balls, CSK will be in massive trouble.
• Abhishek Sharma – Abhishek Sharma is finally repaying the faith shown by the franchise over the years. Like Head, he too has been at his ruthless best. He has scored 124 runs so far at a strike rate of 200, including a fifty.
• Heinrich Klaasen – He is arguably the best T20 player at the moment in world cricket. If Klaasen is batting and the game looks beyond the reach, don’t get your eyes off the TV as Klaasen can pull off miraculous wins. He almost did that against KKR when he got SRH close to the target of 209 with a 29 ball 63. He has so far scored 167 runs at a strike rate of 219, including two fifties.
• Pat Cummins – The bowling has not been bad at all but the format is such where bowlers can do very little. However, Cummins has bowled well and picked a wicket for just 28 runs against GT.

• Shivam Dube – Dube has been brilliant for CSK. Game after game, he has impressed with his striking abilities. In fact, he has become one of the mainstays of this CSK batting. Dube has scored just over 100 runs for CSK in three games. On a placid surface in Hyderabad, he can be devastating.
• Matheesha Pathirana – Pathirana has a big role to play for CSK in the season. He has started well and picked three wickets for 31 runs against DC. His skills in death overs make him one of the most lethal pacers to face in final overs.
• Ravindra Jadeja – Jadeja has been off-colour so far but brings in immense value to the team. He is a quality batter down the order, and is CSK’s leading spinner along with being a gun fielder as well. Jadeja will be looking to turn things around against SRH.

CSK Possible Impact Player Substitutes

Sameer Rizvi, Shardul Thakur, Shaik Rasheed, Nishant Sandhu, Mitchell Santner, Moeen Ali

CSK are trying to invest in Sameer Rizvi and he is likely to be used as an impact player. If Shardul fails to find a place in playing XI, he will also be an option for impact player;
