Hampshire Team News & Playing 11

HAM Team News

Last year’s semi-finalists Hampshire Hawks got off to a losing start on Thursday evening when they hosted but were then beaten by Surrey in Southampton. Although there were a couple of strong performances, James Vince will be looking for improvement across his side in this game.

HAM Team Batting

Ben McDermott got a three-ball duck with James Vince and Ali Orr both making single figure scores as well so the top of the batting order is somewhere that Hampshire will expect better returns from in this match. However, Toby Albert impressed against Surrey with 46 from number five and he could perhaps move up the order.

HAM Team Bowling

The Hawks really do have a strong bowling attack but even they were unable to stop Surrey from chasing down their target of 163 with five wickets and four balls to spare. Chris Wood and Benny Howell are the only players in the bowling attack who will come into this game without a wicket yet in the tournament.

HAM Team Form

Hampshire Hawks had their moments but overall were not quite good enough to beat Surrey on Thursday.

Hampshire Predicted Playing 11

Ben McDermott (wk), James Vince (c), Ali Orr, Joe Weatherley, Toby Albert, James Fuller, Benny Howell, Liam Dawson, Michael Neser, Chris Wood, John Turner

Kent Team News & Playing 11

KET Team News

It was a brilliant night for Kent Spitfires on Friday as they thrashed Middlesex by 98 runs to get off to a winning start. In a fantastic team performance it was only Joey Evison who went wicketless and captain Sam Billings with a golden duck who will have been disappointed with their showings! This will be a much tougher contest.

KET Team Batting

The timeless Joe Denly top scored for the Spitfires on Friday as he hit 56 runs from 33 balls from number five. With a lengthy batting order, the openers Zak Crawley and Daniel Bell-Drummond will both be able to bat with freedom at the top of the order in this match.

KET Team Bowling

Spinner Matt Parkinson was the standout performer for Kent Spitfires with the ball against Middlesex but there were also impressive performances from Marcus O’Riordan and Beyers Swanepoel. Kent have plenty of variety and quality in their bowling unit which could be necessary against a strong Hampshire batting line up.

KET Team Form

Kent Spitfires completely outplayed Middlesex from start to finish on Friday evening.

Kent Predicted Playing 11

Zak Crawley, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Tawande Muyeye, Sam Billings (c) (wk), Joe Denly, Joey Evison, Beyers Swanepoel, Marcus O’Riordan, Grant Stewart, Xavier Bartlett, Matt Parkinson

🏆 Hampshire vs Kent Prediction

We are expecting a close fixture between two teams who have assembled very impressive squads for this year’s T20 Blast. Kent Spitfires will fancy their chances against anyone after their heavy win over Middlesex but we are backing Hampshire Hawks to go up a level or two from their defeat against Surrey and to get their first victory of the campaign.
