Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 5h T20 Match Prediction 2024

BAN vs ZIM 5th T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips

The Bangladesh and Zimbabwe T20I series comes to a close on Sunday in Mirpur with the hosts, Bangladesh, targeting another win to secure a 5-0 whitewash. So far in this series, Zimbabwe have lost by 5 runs, 9 runs, 6 wickets and 8 wickets. Read on as we preview this fifth and final match. The game gets underway at 10:00 local time on May 12th.

Bangladesh have a 4-0 lead ahead of this match but their last two victories have been by small margins with Friday’s win a real nailbiter. However, we expect a renewed focus ahead of this T20I and are backing Bangladesh to get their fifth win of the series in this game.

After seeing Bangladesh collapse from 101/0 to 143 all out, Zimbabwe came very close to winning the last game which should give them some confidence ahead of this clash. However, they need someone to stand up with the bat and post a big score if they are to get over the winning line.

Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to field in the last game at Mirpur. With both teams preferring to chase, we predict the captains will want to bowl first ahead of this T20I.

This pitch offers plenty for the bowlers with turn for the spinners and movement off the surface for the quicks. A par score for the side batting first is likely to be around 150-160.

Bangladesh Team News & Playing 11

BAN Team News

With the series already secured, Bangladesh made three changes for the fourth T20I with Mahmudullah, Litton Das and Mohammad Saifuddin coming out of the side replaced by Shakib Al Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman and Soumya Sarkar. No injuries were reported after the match and we expect an unchanged XI for this game.

BAN Key Players

  • Tanzid Hasan – the 23 year old opener was the only player to hit a half-century on either side on Friday and has now gone past 50 on two occasions in the series.
  • Soumya Sarkar – the experienced batting all-rounder has had an impressive run of returns in international cricket over the last six months. His attacking batting will be important at the top of the order.
  • Shakib Al Hasan – the left-arm spin bowling all-rounder will want to contribute more with the bat in this game but he was excellent with the ball on Friday taking 4/35.
  • Mustafizur Rahman – the 28 year old left-arm fast medium bowler looks to be back to his best and he picked up the Player of the Match Award on Friday.

BAN Team Form

Bangladesh have won all four games in this series and also come out on top in five of their last six T20Is.

Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Towhid Hridoy, Shakib Al Hasan, Jaker Ali (wk), Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan Sakib,  Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanvir Islam

ZIM Team News

With Zimbabwe looking to get their first win of the series, they made two changes to their XI before the fourth T20I with the experienced pair of Ryan Burl and Richard Ngarava coming in in place of Joylord Gumbie and Craig Ervine. After coming so close to winning on Friday, we expect to see an unchanged side.

ZIM Key Players

  • Johnathan Campbell- the 26 year old left-hander only made his international debut earlier in the series but he has impressed with 97 runs from three games.
  • Brian Bennett- the young all-rounder has been moved up the order during the series but we expect him to be in the middle-order where he has been most effective for this T20I.
  • Richard Ngarava- the left-arm fast medium bowler returned to the team and dismissed Jaker Ali and Tanzim Hasan Sakib. He is a tough bowler to face at all stages of a T20I innings.
  • Luke Jongwe- the right-arm fast medium bowler has taken six wickets across the series and comes into this game with a T20I strike-rate of 14.8.

Who will win Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 5th T20 Match?

Zimbabwe have shown some fight in the last two games but Bangladesh made the fourth T20I closer by poor batting from their middle and lower order. Player for player, Bangladesh are the top side in home conditions.

🏆 Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe Prediction

After coming so close to recording their first win of the series on Friday, Zimbabwe will have to try and find a new level of performance with the bat as that has been their main problem across the previous four matches. Bangladesh’s bowlers are of a high standard and we expect them to be too good once again. Our prediction is for Bangladesh to win this game to take the series 5-0.
