Oman suffered a crushing defeat to Namibia in the first game. The team could only score 109-9 in 20 overs and even though they tried hard, failed to defend the target and lost the game by 4 wickets. Oman’s batting will be tested against Namibian bowlers.

Kashyap Prajapati, Zeeshan Maqsood and Aqib Ilyas will be the main batters for Oman. Prajapati is one of the most talented batters for Oman and played well for his 33 in the first game. Zeeshan and Aqib failed to score much and were dismissed for 9 and 19 respectively. However, they are good players and carry most of the Oman hopes.

Bilal Khan failed to pick a wicket in the first T20I but bowled well to keep things tight at one end. He can be backed to pick a few wickets in the second game. Mehrar Khan was outstanding with the ball and picked two wickets for 19 runs to keep Oman in the game. Also, Fayyaz Butt was top notch and picked three wickets for 21 runs.

Oman picked a 2-1 win over PNG in their last series. The series against Namibia, however, will be tougher.

Namibia is a far more stable team than Oman and would like to put up another great show against the hosts. Namibia lost six wickets in a small chase thus they need to play sensible cricket. They can’t take things for granted.

Gerald Erasmus, JP Koetze and Jan Frylinck will be key for Namibia. The three are among the top run scorers for Namibia in T20Is, however, failed in the first game. Still, we need not to look beyond them as top performers with the bat given the skills they have.
