Middlesex Team News & Playing 11
MID Team News
It may have taken them four games to do so, but Middlesex finally got their first win of the 2024 T20 Blast with a four wicket victory with four balls remaining against Kent Spitfires in Canterbury on Sunday. They are now looking for back to back wins to take them off the foot of the table.
MID Team Batting
Needing 174 to win against the Spitfires, Middlesex needed to get off to a strong start and in spite of losing opener Martin Andersson for a five ball duck, the skipper and T20 specialist Stephen Eskinazi hit 29-ball 40 and put on 67 for the second wicket with Ryan Higgins. With Leus du Plooy at number four, there is talent in the batting line-up.
MID Team Bowling
The team management and particularly the bowling coaches will have been delighted by what they saw from Middlesex’s bowling unit against Kent as all six picked up at least one wicket. Tom Helm and Luke Hollman will come into this game full of confidence after taking two wickets and conceding under 25 runs in the last match.
MID Team Form
Middlesex lost all three of their opening games of this campaign but produced an excellent team victory on Sunday.
Middlesex Predicted Playing 11

Somerset Team News & Playing 11
SOM Team News
The reigning Vitality Blast champions ended a run of two successive defeats and moved up to fifth place in the South Group with a very convincing and impressive result against Hampshire Hawks on Sunday. A win at Lord’s will see Lewis Gregory’s side back on track to defend their title.
SOM Team Batting
One thing you can be sure of with Somerset’s batters is they will not take a backward step and we can fully expect them all to come out with an attacking mindset in this game. Four of their top six had strike-rates over 200 against Hampshire Hawks and they will all look to hit boundaries from ball one in this match.
SOM Team Bowling
Defending a target of 242 against Hampshire, Somerset’s bowlers knew they were likely to be attacked from the off and so it proved. However after breaking the opening partnership in the eighth over, wickets fell regularly and Somerset’s varied attack will be looking forward to bowling at Lord’s on Tuesday.
SOM Team Form
Somerset showed the strength of their batting in the win over Hampshire Hawks and have won two out of four this season.
Somerset Predicted Playing 11
Tom Banton (wk), Will Smeed, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Tom Abell, Sean Dickson, Lewis Gregory (c), Ben Green, Craig Overton, Roelof van der Merwe, Josh Davey, Riley Meredith
🏆 Middlesex vs Somerset Prediction
Although both teams are in the bottom half of the table ahead of this match, a win for either side will see them shoot up the table. Middlesex had been struggling before their win over Kent but we think this will be a tougher fixture. Somerset’s batters clicked in their last game and they are going to be very hard to stop from now on. We are backing Somerset to win this clash.
