ENG Team News
In spite of conceding a first innings lead of 41 in the second Test of the series at Trent Bridge, Ben Stokes’ side were able to romp home by 241 runs and make it 11 wins from their last 15 home Tests. We expect England to select an unchanged XI for this match.
ENG Team Batting
There were three centurions for England in Nottingham last week with vice-captain Ollie Pope making his in the first innings before Joe Root and Harry Brook made triple figures in the second innings. Opener Ben Duckett comes into this Test after making 71 and 76 at Trent Bridge.
ENG Team Bowling
In England’s first Test since Jimmy Anderson’s retirement, there were strong figures from Chris Woakes in the first innings (4/84) and Shoaib Bashir (5/41) in the second innings. Mark Wood took only two wickets in Nottingham in spite of some fantastic spells and he will enjoy the pace on offer in Birmingham.
ENG Team Form
England come into this Test at Edgbaston looking to record their third successive Test victory.

West Indies Team News & Playing 11
WI Team News
Although West Indies were beaten by a large margin at Trent Bridge, there was a much improved performance from the tourists who looked likely to take the game into a fifth day before a collapse of wickets handed England the victory late on Sunday. Gudakesh Motie missed the game through illness but will return to Birmingham.
WI Team Batting
At the toss in Nottingham, Kraigg Brathwaite set his team the goal of hitting over 400 runs in their first innings and they produced 457. As a result, there will be plenty of confidence from the skipper and Kavem Hodge who made 120, as well as Alick Athanaze (82) and Joshua Da Silva (82*) in this Test.
WI Team Bowling
With left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie returning to the side, West Indies should have a stronger bowling attack than in the second Test. Their leading bowler in the series is undoubtedly Jayden Seales who has caused England plenty of problems with his pace and ability to move the ball.
WI Team Form
West Indies have lost three of their last four Tests and won only one.
West Indies Predicted Playing 11
Kraigg Brathwaite (c), Mikyle Louis, Kirk McKenzie, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Jason Holder, Joshua Da Silva (wk), Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales
🏆 England vs West Indies Prediction
In spite of making 400+ in both innings for the first time in a Test, England will still feel that there is room for improvement in their batting in this game. Their bowling attack has impressed in the series and the loss of James Anderson was not evident as they won easily in Nottingham. We expect West Indies to produce another improved batting performance but do not think they have the talent to keep it up for the whole game. Therefore, we are backing England to win again.
