ENG Women Team News & Playing 11

ENG-W Team News

Heather Knight’s side began the series with a very dominant performance in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday. With both bat and ball they were much the stronger side and they have now won four of their last five WODIs against New Zealand Women. They will be looking to maintain their dominance in this WODI in Worcester.

ENG-W Team Batting

Only three batters were needed for England Women in the first match of the series as they successfully chased down their target of 157 with 172 balls remaining. Both openers Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier come into this WODI after hitting half-centuries in the first game.

ENG-W Team Bowling

It only took 33.3 overs for England Women to bowl out New Zealand Women on Wednesday and the bowling unit will be looking to produce a similar effort in this WODI. Lauren Bell was the only bowler to go wicketless in Chester-le-Street but she should get good bounce and carry in Worcester.

ENG-W Team Form

England Women are now unbeaten from their last four matches in this format.

NZ Women Team News & Playing 11

NZ-W Team News

There needs to be a big improvement from New Zealand Women in this game after they were completely outplayed in both innings in the opening WODI in Chester-le-Street. Although we are not anticipating any changes to the XI, Sophie Devine will be looking for longer individual innings from her batters.

NZ-W Team Batting

All-rounder Brooke Halliday was the only New Zealand Women’s batter to reach fifty in the opening game although all of the top four got into double figures without reaching thirty. The trio of Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr and captain Devine will be key with the bat in this WODI.

Not only did Halliday top score with the bat in Chester-le-Street, she also took New Zealand’s only wicket in the match. Jess Kerr impressed with her economy rate but the entire bowling unit will need to bowl a fuller length in this match to create more opportunities.

NZ-W Team Form

Although New Zealand Women beat England Women in April, they have now lost three of their last four WODIs.

NZ Women Predicted Playing 11

Suzie Bate, Georgia Plimmer, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devine (c), Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Isabella Gaze (wk), Hannah Rowe, Jess Kerr, Molly Penfold, Fran Jonas

🏆 ENG Women vs NZ Women Prediction

After a particularly one-sided opening game of the series, we expect England Women to be too strong for New Zealand Women once again. The pitch in Worcester will not be particularly advantageous to either side but England Women have much more quality with both bat and ball.
