The excitement for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 is hitting the roof already. With the marquee tournament all set to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA, the participating sides will look to put in their best performances in the competition to get their hands on the coveted title.
One of the biggest favourites to go all the way would be the Indian team. Recently, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed Rohit Sharma will lead team at the event, with ace batter Virat Kohli’s selection not confirmed yet. Meanwhile, former India women’s skipper Anjum Chopra talked of how the duo of skipper Rohit and Kohli will be crucial to India’s success in the T20 World Cup.
“When you have quality players like Rohit and Virat, you just can’t question their ability and utilisation. Their presence is enough to boost the team’s confidence. They are accomplished players. They are world-beaters. India will definitely require Virat and Rohit,” Chopra told the Times of India.

Furthermore, Chopra branded star batter Rinku Singh as the player who could have a breakout campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024. Opining that the fans will have to see how much the 26-year-old will be able to sustain in the tournament.
“Rinku Singh. The way he is performing and looking really good. We have to see how much he is able to sustain, the day he sees or faces any failure, and how he comes back. He is going to stay and be around the team and system. He is the one player the entire country looks up to,” Chopra said.
“Yashasvi Jaiswal is another name. Coming from an Under-19 setup, then IPL and now he is just amazing for the Indian senior team,” she added.
